Erika Fontana

About Me

Erika Fontana is a senior at the University of Mississippi majoring in Journalism with an emphasis in Sports Media and specialization in Public Relations, and a minor in Marketing. Originally from West Haven, Connecticut, she has built a strong foundation in sports storytelling, digital strategy, and audience engagement across multiple campus media outlets and professional organizations.

Her experience spans some of the most respected platforms on the Ole Miss campus. Erika has served as the News Director for Rebel Radio 92.1 FM and Social Media Director for NewsWatch Ole Miss, where she developed the program’s digital media presence. She also served as Vice President of Public Relations for the Ole Miss College Panhellenic Council, overseeing campus-wide communication efforts, recruitment publicity, branding consistency, and large-scale community events. Additionally, she held the role of Vice President of Marketing for the Delta Sigma Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi, leading chapter branding, digital content, and event promotion. Beyond her editorial and strategic roles, Erika produces digital content for Oxford Photobomb, a local branded photography company.

In the sports media space, Erika has completed a Digital Video Internship with ESPN in Bristol, Connecticut, where she contributed to video clipping, content packaging, and digital storytelling across major sports events. She also has completed an internship with MPW Digital, an Oxford-based SEC sports network, creating social content, podcast engagement strategies, and live-event activations through her integrated marketing communications capstone campaign, From Grove to Game. Her work blends strong brand identity with audience-first connection.

Erika’s leadership extends across Greek life, the sports media world, student media, and community organizations. She has been recognized for her work ethic, communication skills, and commitment to advancing the student involvement experience. Her interests include digital sports storytelling, social strategy, event-based fan engagement, and PR-driven brand development.
